Welcome to the Backpacking Essentials information portal. The portal was created to share our knowledge, experiences and basic information about backpacking. As Leaders, providing the Scout the opportunity to experience the backcountry helps create those exciting and lasting memories of his Scouting career.

Included is a template to help develop your own trip plans and a checklist of information needed. We've linked some of our current trail listings and favorite resources below. The AT abbreviation stands for the Appalachian Trail which has its southern terminus here in Georgia.
